Sollers Consulting supports InsurHack® 2017

Sollers Consulting is again sponsoring the Hackathon of Zurich Group Germany in Cologne

Cologne, 14th August 2017: The Hackathon, InsurHack® will again take place at RheinEnergieSTADION in Cologne from 6th to 8th October 2017. Initiator and organizer is the Zurich Group Germany. As in the previous year, Sollers Consulting will support this event as a partner. The first edition of the event attracted 130 participants from all over the world to the extraordinary event location in Cologne. 30 teams developed highly innovative and practical ideas in an agile manner.

This year, the Hackathon will bring together interdisciplinary teams of developers, designers and programmers to create executable software solutions and business ideas. The goal is to realize customer-oriented programs and applications which are pointing the way for the future of insurance. To offer a basis for the realisation of these ideas, Zurich provides exclusive access to its IT-platform and API (application programming interface), which was co-developed by Sollers Consulting.

“API is a brave, revolutionary idea which gives Zurich a competitive advantage and makes it an InsurTech-friendly company. It was exciting to be a part of the team that implemented OData REST services on top of Guidewire PolicyCenter®. Our services not only expose main business operations like policy creation, searching, quoting and binding, but also do this in a very flexible way. It is trivial for example to get just a part of the policy as the service response. Thanks to this, our services are already consumed by various Java and JavaScript clients”, says Mateusz Chrzonstowski, Senior Programmer at Sollers Consulting.

A jury of experts will select the best ideas and the winning teams will be awarded with a total of 75.000 € in prize money. This money is especially intended to serve as a start-up assistance to scale up the most promising approaches.

“We are very pleased to support the Hackathon as a partner, since it reflects our agile and creative company culture”, says Michal Trochimczuk, Managing Partner at Sollers Consulting. “I look forward to seeing how the young talents face this unusual challenge.”
