A leading London Market insurer partnered with Sollers to reimplement its BI data movement as part of a strategic migration to Guidewire Cloud. The goal was to modernise data integration, improve scalability and governance, and enable cloud-native reporting without disrupting ongoing operations.
With direct database access no longer available in Guidewire Cloud, the existing ETL processes had to be rethought from the ground up. Sollers designed and delivered a cloud-aligned ELT architecture, using Snowflake as the central analytics platform and Cloud Data Access (CDA) as the primary data extraction mechanism.
The migration to Guidewire Cloud introduced new architectural constraints that rendered the existing event-driven ETL approach inefficient and unsupported. The client needed a future-proof data movement solution that could:
Helping P&C insurers around the world implement Guidewire solutions since 2011
Sollers rebuilt the end-to-end data movement architecture to align with Guidewire Cloud best practices and modern cloud analytics standards.
Cloud Data Access (CDA) was implemented as the primary extraction method, ensuring a supported and reliable data feed from Guidewire Cloud.
The legacy ETL model was replaced with a scalable ELT framework, moving transformation logic into Snowflake to improve performance, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
The solution was designed to support:
This ensured seamless integration with existing BI tooling while enabling future growth.
By combining Guidewire-supported data access with Snowflake’s cloud-native processing capabilities, the solution delivers a scalable and governance-friendly foundation for enterprise analytics. The architecture reduces long-term risk, simplifies operations, and supports ongoing evolution of reportingand data models.
